we would not have them. It is a fine balance between what you want to see, the light, the darkness, or the blending of them both.
Recently...
I found myself walking through the dark forest,
and it seemed so endless.
I caught my breathe at the tiniest ray of light,
and marveled as the foliage seemed to rise up to meet it.
Reaching towards a warmth that is seemingly uninvited by
the otherwise dark, moss covered halls of the woodland.

There are time when I feel like it is okay, just to blend in with the shadows. The things you learn can be priceless. The peace I feel is worth the darkness. A quiet mind can be just as joyful there, as being in the sun.
Let others come out into the light, and enjoy its soft, warm touch.
Smile quietly behind them, in your own forest of shadows.
Was it chance, was it luck, that I looked that way? I felt like I was very lucky to be able to see the sun shining through these leaves. They will never look exactly that way again, and I felt blessed to see them at that moment, and even more blessed to be able to capture it.
